Techcrunch is reporting that according to source “close to Amazon with direct knowledge of the numbers”, the Kindle has sold about 240,000 units since it’s launch in November.

Considering the price of the Kindle to be 400 USD during launch and 360 USD after a price drop in May, the estimated sales figure would fall between $86 million and $96 million. Adding in the revenues from sales of the digital contents, the Kindle could possibly contribute 100 million in revenue for Amazon.
